General information about the Branch, Branch publications, dispute
resolution services and information on the operation, application
and interpretation of the Employment Standards Act and Employment

Information Line
The ESB Information Line (1-800-663-3316, fax: (250) 612-4121)
offers 24-hour recorded information regarding the provisions of
the Act and is staffed from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through
Friday. Information Line staff respond to voice and fax inquiries.
Branch Offices
Employment Standards Branch staff are available between 8:30 am
to 4:30 pm; Monday through Friday to answer public enquires respecting
the operation, application and interpretation of the Employment
Standards Act and Regulation.
Publications
The Employment Standards Branch provides a printed brochure of the
provisions of the Act called Guide to the Employment Standards
Act. Individual copies of the Guide are available at Branch offices
and at Service BC (Government Agents). An electronic version of the Guide to the
Employment Standards Act is available at www.labour.gov.bc.ca/esb/
The Employment Standards Branch produces factsheets outlining provisions

Public Speaking Engagements
Speaking engagements can be arranged through regional Employment Standards Branch offices. Examples of groups who have used this service in the past are high schools, colleges, universities and other non-profit educational institutions, and sector and employer groups.
Delegates, where possible, will deliver or participate in sessions. The institution or sponsoring group is responsible for providing the facilities, advertising the program and registering participants. There is no charge for presentations.
The Employment Standards Branch may initiate presentations and/or
consultations with specific sectors and employer groups.
